Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide: Everything You Need to Know
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is set to be released in the UK on 22 July, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8. This new foldable phone boasts a wider design, making it more suitable for entertainment and gaming. With a larger 7.6-inch QHD+ display and a 4:3 aspect ratio, the Z Fold 8 Wide is expected to provide an immersive experience.
In terms of cameras, the Z Fold 8 Wide will have two rear-facing cameras, ditching the telephoto lens found in its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. The phone will feature a 50Mp wide and a 50Mp ultra-wide sensor, and will take photos at a 24Mp resolution by default. This may be a notable step backwards for some users, especially considering the phone’s expected price of £1,699.
However, the Z Fold 8 Wide is expected to have a larger 4800mAh battery, with faster 45W charging speeds. This, combined with the phone’s thicker and more durable glass on the internal display, should provide a better overall user experience. The phone will also feature a Snapdragon chipset, likely the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, and will have Wi-Fi 7 and NB-NTN satellite connectivity.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide will be available in four colourways: Cream, Graphite, Lavender, and Pistachio. With its new design and improved features, this phone is set to be a strong competitor in the UK market, especially with the upcoming release of the Apple iPhone Ultra.
