Oppo Reno 16 Series Hits UK on 3 July with New Features and Higher Prices

Oppo Reno 16 Series Launches in the UK with New Features and Higher Prices
Oppo has confirmed that its latest Reno 16 family – the Reno 16, Reno 16 Pro and Reno 16 F – will reach UK retailers on 3 July. The trio follows the more affordable Reno 13 line from last year, but arrives with a noticeable step‑up in specifications and, crucially, price.
If you choose the Pop White finish on any of the three handsets, you’ll see Oppo’s new HoloVerse 3D Technology in action. The effect renders a planet‑like visual that appears to cast a realistic shadow across the back of the phone, giving the device a striking, almost kinetic look.
All three models carry robust protection ratings, boasting IP68, IP69 and IP69K certifications for dust and water resistance. This means they can survive immersion in water and exposure to fine particles without damage – a welcome feature for the unpredictable British weather.
The Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro adopt a more compact form factor, each equipped with a 6.32‑inch AMOLED panel. The Pro variant can push the refresh rate to 144 Hz in supported games, delivering smoother motion. The Reno 16 F, by contrast, offers a slightly larger 6.57‑inch screen, catering to users who prefer a bigger viewing area.
Charging speeds also differ across the range. Both the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro support 80 W wired charging, though neither includes wireless charging. The Reno 16 F lags behind with a 45 W wired solution, reflecting its position as the more budget‑friendly option.
Battery capacities vary as well. In the UK market the Reno 16 Pro is fitted with a 6000 mAh cell – a touch smaller than the 6700 mAh unit found on the Chinese version. The standard Reno 16 receives a 6700 mAh battery, while the Reno 16 F tops out at a generous 7000 mAh, promising extended usage between charges.
Camera hardware sees a substantial uplift. The Reno 16 Pro sports a triple‑camera array centred on a 200 MP primary sensor, complemented by a 50 MP 3.5× telephoto lens and a 50 MP ultra‑wide shooter, plus a 50 MP front‑facing camera for high‑resolution selfies. The standard Reno 16 simplifies the setup with a 50 MP main sensor, while the Reno 16 F’s camera details remain sparse, leaving enthusiasts to await further clarification.
Under the hood, the Reno 16 Pro is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8550 chipset, delivering flagship‑class performance. The regular Reno 16 relies on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, offering a solid mid‑range experience. Details for the Reno 16 F’s processor have not been fully disclosed, adding an element of mystery to the line‑up.
Pricing marks the most noticeable shift. After an introductory discount period that runs until the end of July, the Reno 16 Pro with 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage will retail for £899 – roughly £250 more than the Reno 13 Pro launched a year ago. The Reno 16 with 8 GB RAM and 512 GB storage is set at £699, while the Reno 16 F, equipped with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, will cost £649.
Overall, the Oppo Reno 16 series brings impressive visual tricks, robust durability and strong camera hardware to the UK market, but it does so at a price point that nudges the line away from the true mid‑range segment it once occupied.
