Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8: Rival to iPhone Ultra
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8: First Official Look
Samsung has given us our first official look at the Galaxy Z Fold 8, the all-new widescreen format of the folding phone, which will rival the Apple iPhone Ultra. The teaser comes via Spider-Man as the upcoming ‘Brand New Day’ movie comes to cinemas on 31 July.
In the shot, Spider-Man can be seen shooting a web at a new phone, which appears to be the new Galaxy Z Fold 8. While it’s only a tiny glimpse, there are already a few things we can learn from it. For starters, we can see there are just two camera modules on the back, so as predicted by rumours, the phone won’t have a telephoto lens like the Ultra.
We can also see the power button and volume rocker positioned much closer to the top of the phone, again hinting at the short stature of the new phone. The bezel around the front screen looks very thin and the colourway of the Z Fold 8 in the teaser looks to be the new Lavender hue.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 will be unveiled at Samsung Unpacked on 22 July in London, where we can expect to see more of the new phone, as well as other devices like the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 and Samsung Galaxy Buds 3. The Apple iPhone Ultra and Samsung Galaxy S25 will also be interesting to compare to the new Galaxy Z Fold 8.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, on the other hand, will have a taller shape, similar to what we’re used to. The new phone will likely have a telephoto lens, which will give it an edge over the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8. We can also expect to see other devices like the iPad Air M2 and Apple Watch Series 10 at the event.
