Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8: Everything we know so far
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 is set to be released in the UK, with the next Galaxy Unpacked event confirmed for 22 July in London. The new flip phone is expected to feature a slimmer, more lightweight design, with a possible return to the Snapdragon processor.
In terms of specs, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 is rumoured to have a more powerful version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, with almost identical cameras to the previous model, including a 50Mp wide-angle lens and a 12Mp ultrawide lens. The battery size and charging speed may also remain unchanged, with a 4,300mAh capacity and 25W wired charging.
Release Date and Price
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 is expected to be released in the UK on 7 August, with a starting price of £1,149 for the base 256GB model. This makes it the cheapest of Samsung’s 2026 foldable phones, but £100 more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7.
For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 was released in July 2025, with a starting price of £1,049. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 was released in July 2024, with a starting price of £1,049, while the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 was released in August 2023, with a starting price of £1,049.
Competition and Features
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 will face competition from other flip phones, such as the Motorola Razr range, including the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra, which features a 68W charging speed. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 may also have a more capable outer display, with the ability to interact with a greater selection of apps without additional configuration.
In terms of other Samsung products, the Samsung Galaxy S26 range may also be of interest, with its powerful Exynos chipset and high-quality cameras, including a 50Mp wide-angle lens and a 12Mp ultrawide lens. The Apple iPhone 17 series and the Google Pixel 11 may also be worth considering, with their advanced cameras and sleek designs.
