In today’s time, everyone needs a powerful laptop for gaming and creative work, and the Lenovo Legion RTX 5080 Laptop is designed to meet this need. We used this laptop for several days and tested the performance of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 GPU and Intel Core i9-14900HX processor in it.
After playing high-end games on high settings
We ran several high-end games like Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III on it at ultra settings. Also, we used it for 3D rendering, video editing, and multitasking.
Our experience was great as this laptop handled every task without any hassle. Whether it was gaming at 4K resolution or 8K video editing, the Lenovo Legion RTX 5080 overcame every challenge with ease.
After running Cyberpunk 2077 in RT Overdrive mode
We first ran Cyberpunk 2077 in RT Overdrive mode, which includes both ray tracing and path tracing. Even when running this game at 4K resolution on ultra settings, we got a stable performance of 65-75 FPS, which was possible with the help of DLSS 3.5.

After this we tested Alan Wake 2, which is known for its heavy graphics. In this game too, we got a performance of 55-60 FPS, which is proof of how powerful the RTX 5080 GPU is. In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, we got a performance of up to 120-140 FPS, which made the gaming experience absolutely smooth and enjoyable.
After doing tasks like content creation and creating 3D models
Apart from gaming, we also used this laptop for content creation. While rendering 3D models in Blender, the RTX 5080 showed its full power and made Cycles rendering up to 40% faster.
Even while editing 8K video in Premiere Pro, we did not face any lag, which shows the real-time performance of this laptop. While doing HDR grading in DaVinci Resolve, the CUDA and RT cores made the work even easier.
Reference rate after playing different games on 16 inch Mini-LED display
The 16 inch Mini LED display of this laptop is also quite impressive, which comes with 240Hz refresh rate and HDR 1000 certification. We played games like Forza Horizon 5 on it and also watched HDR movies, in which the colors were so rich and vibrant that it felt like they were coming out of the screen.
The 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and 1200 nits peak brightness took the gaming and movie-watching experience to a whole new level. Talking about thermal management, the Lenovo Legion’s ColdFront 5.0 cooling system proved to be very effective.
We played continuous gaming for 3 hours, but the keyboard area never got uncomfortably hot. The CPU temperature reached 82°C and the GPU temperature reached 76°C, which is absolutely normal for this kind of performance. The use of liquid metal thermal paste really came in handy, which helped control the heat.
Laptop battery after 7 hours of heavy gaming
The battery life is also quite good, which lasts for 6-7 hours in normal use and 1.5-2 hours in heavy gaming. With the help of 330W fast charging, you can fully charge this laptop in just 1 hour, which is a big advantage. Talking about ports, it has options like Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, and SD card reader (UHS-II), which makes it future-proof.
Who should buy this laptop
If you are looking for a high-end gaming and creative work laptop, then Lenovo Legion RTX 5080 Laptop can be the best option for you. Its performance, display quality, and thermal management make it a strong competitor against brands like ASUS ROG and Alienware.
