Alright guys, I have brought the HP 15 laptop with the latest core ultra 5 processor. And literally, HP has done a lot of upgrades in their HP 15 series that I will cover in the post.

Laptop parts in the box

So first thing first, let’s open the laptop’s box. I found the adapter’s packaging to be completely new. Full sustainable packaging, bro. So this is the HP 15 FD1099TO. And it’s the latest laptop. So let’s check it out, how is its performance, build quality, display quality and also the most important thing, the battery backup. So let’s get started. So starting from the technical specifications, it has the latest core ultra 5 125S series processor. It’s a very good processor. That means if we do light work, like browsing or working in the world, then low power efficient core will be used to improve the power efficiency of this processor. It has a 45W base TDP, 14 cores and 18 threads in total. Out of the 14 cores, there are 4 performance cores, 8 efficient cores and 2 low power efficient cores.

Performance build quality in this laptop

I didn’t expect this from HP. It has 16GB DDR5, 5600MHz dual channel RAM. And maximum you can expand the RAM to 32GB in this laptop. And literally, this is a major improvement in HP 15 series. That means your multitasking work will be amazing. And it has 512GB Gen 4 SSD. And look at the speed, 5000Mbps read speed and 0-86Mbps write speed. Just amazing. And it has core ultra 5 125H processor. So here you get to see Intel ARC graphics, which is very powerful. It has 2.2GHz graphics max dynamic frequency.

Here you get to see support for ray tracing. That means better frame rates during the gameplay. And friends, Intel has introduced a new feature in their core ultra series processor. That is neural processing unit. That’s why you get to see Intel AI boost here. That means you can work in any AI related software. Because you know, AI is being integrated in all the software these days. So in that condition, our neural processing unit will be used instead of central processing unit. That is CPU. And in terms of connectivity, it has Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth version is 5.3.

All the three light laptops of HP, you get to see MS Office Home and Student 2021 lifetime support. So it’s time to check the benchmark of HP 15 laptop. Here in Cinebench R23, single core score is 1399 points. And the multi-core score is 8112. And in benchmark comparison, you can see where this processor stands out. And recently, That is way better. Because recently, I reviewed Galaxy Book 4. There the open shell score was around 12,000. So we get to see more than double the score. So that’s the power of ARC graphics. I reviewed Acer’s Subgoo 14 with the same processor. There I got to see more scores as compared to HP 15 laptop. Because the brand configures the TDP here. That’s why we see a difference in Cinebench score. In Geekbench 6, we get to see some such scores. And the open shell score is 29,088 And in Cinebench 2024, we get to see some such scores. In 3DMark 10, the overall score is 3173.

Multitasking and benchmark testing in HP Laptop 15

PCMark 10’s score was also amazing, that is 5749. That means you can easily do high-level multitasking in the laptop. In Blender’s benchmark, you get to see the overall score of 1521 in crossmark. So in this benchmark, you can easily do all your tasks. Like office work, coding, web development. You can easily handle the laptop due to the Core Ultra 5 125H processor. Friends, I did some video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro. You can easily do 4K editing in mobile level. And the camera can easily handle 1-2 layers of 4K in this HP 15 laptop. Timeline was running smoothly due to the Core Ultra 5 processor. And 16GB RAM of 56MHz.And the rendering speed was also good. 1 minute video rendered in 1.5 minutes. That means you can easily do buttery smooth HD video editing in this laptop.

If you want to edit Reels like iPhone videos, then this laptop can easily handle it. And those who want to work in Photoshop or do graphic designing, can easily do it in this laptop due to its IPS panel display with 300 nits brightness. And you can also do intermediate-level Blender work in this HP 15 laptop.

Gaming test in High Fps

I will recommend to go with the laptop which has dedicated graphics card like NVIDIA RTX 2050, 3050 for fully 3D modeling and graphic designing work. So it’s time to check the gaming capability of this HP 15 laptop. So, I played the first game in GTA V in Full-HD resolution and default setting. That is a combination of very high and high. I was getting an average frame rate of 50-55. And the gameplay was very smooth. And the TDP of the CPU was not more than 20.6W. Because GTA uses CPU as well as GPU. And the GPU usage was very good, that is 97%.

The temperature was fine according to GTA. It was not more than 75-76. So, definitely you will be able to get 60FPS in GTA V. Then next game I played was Valorant in Full-HD resolution and low setting. There was a V-Sync turn-off. I was getting an average FPS of 180. And you can see that I got a major boost in TDP due to the CPU intensity. I touched max TDP up to 35W. And the temperature is touching up to 96 degrees. I don’t know what were the issues here.

The temperature should not be raised as per thin and light laptops. But through the time I played the next game, the temperature became low. And here, 16GB RAM was getting a very good benefit. You can see that there was no throttling in the gameplay. And the RAM is also being used properly around 10-11GB. So, yeah, this is all about the Valorant in HP 15 laptop. And to play CH2, you also need a GPU. That’s why you are seeing it here. HP 15 comes with a 1.65 kg laptop. The laptop almost opens with one hand. The hinge is smooth like all other HP laptops. The tilt is maximum of 145 degrees.

That’s why you can see that the GPU was being used up to 95%. That means the integrated graphics. I got an average FPS of 50. And you can see that the temperature is low. It was not going more than 82-84. And overall, the gameplay in CH2 was good as well. And Intel’s ARC graphics are given here. So, I thought why not try playing the game in IDR2. I played it in balanced quality. The performance was pathetic. I was not getting more than 20-25 FPS. You can understand this if you want to play heavy AAA titles. Like IDR2, Black Myth Wukong, Far Cry 6. Then, definitely, you need a dedicated GPU. At least RTX 2050. And the temperature was maintained around 70-75. So, it’s okay. The temperature automatically goes down through the time. So, this clears out that Intel’s ARC graphics is also for casual gaming. Not very high-intensity gaming. For all the AAA titles games.

Build quality and colour

So, let’s see the build and design of HP 15. I reviewed an HP 15 8 months ago. The back panel is white with a polycarbonate build. There are air intake vents along with a 2W to 2W speaker. The palm rest area is also in natural silver color. PC AVS’s overall build quality is top-notch.

There is an Intel Core i5 sticker along with the Intel Arc Graphics sticker. The laptop comes with a very minimal and professional look like all other HP laptops. I checked the flex on this laptop. I got to see both the top-lit flex and the keyboard flex. So, it’s possible that the build is made of polycarbonate. So, there is flexibility. Like all other thin and light laptops, you get to see exhaust vents below the display. So, as such, your laptop doesn’t get affected by the exhaust vents. I didn’t see any screen wobbling in HP 15. So, that’s great here. That laptop and this laptop’s design is the same. The laptop comes in natural silver color. PC AVS’s overall build quality is top-notch. You get to see HP’s shiny branding.
