What You Need to Know About Warranty for the Edge 70

The Motorola Edge 70 comes with a standard limited warranty that covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal consumer use for one year from the date of purchase. This means if something goes wrong due to a fault in manufacturing — like parts failing, defects in materials, or internal malfunction — Motorola will repair or replace the device at no cost to you. This warranty applies only to the first consumer purchaser.

If you buy a Motorola Edge 70, you’re also eligible for optional protection plans through Moto Care. There are two main add-ons: the Extended Service Plan (ESP) and Accidental Damage Protection (ADP). ESP extends coverage for mechanical or electrical breakdowns beyond the standard warranty. ADP includes those same breakdown protections, plus repair coverage for drops, spills, cracked screens, or liquid damage.

Under the standard warranty, accessory items included in the box (charger, cable, etc.) are also covered for one year, provided they were Motorola‑branded or certified for use with the Edge 70. However, batteries are covered only if they fail to hold at least 80% of their capacity or if they leak. Normal wear and tear (scratches, dents, cosmetic changes) are not covered. Damage from misuse, accidents, or third‑party modifications (e.g. opening the phone yourself or using non‑Motorola parts) are also excluded.

If you opt for Moto Care ESP or ADP, you can make claims online or through Motorola’s support channels. Repairs are done by authorized service centers. Deductibles apply (varies based on device and damage), and plans have specific enrollment windows: ESP must be purchased while your phone is still under the original warranty. ADP often must be activated within 30 days of device activation and prior to any damage.

For service, Motorola provides options like mail‑in repairs or visiting authorized service centers. Repair times after the device is received are generally a few business days. For certain protection plans, there’s an advance‑exchange service, where Motorola sends you a replacement device first, and you return your faulty Edge 70 afterward. Proof of purchase and the device’s IMEI or serial number will be required.

If you ever need to check whether your Edge 70 is still under warranty, you can use Motorola’s warranty lookup tool by entering the IMEI/serial number. Cancelling a Moto Care protection plan is possible: you can get a full refund if cancellation is done within 60 days; after that, refunds are prorated minus any claims already made.
