Honor Sets Sights on U.S. Foldable Market
Honor has officially signaled that the Magic V Flip 2 will reach the U.S., confirming a launch window for its foldable handset. This marks a significant shift for the brand, which has previously focused on its home market and select global regions. No exact U.S. release date has been announced yet, but the confirmation itself signals that Honor is serious about expanding its footprint.
The company revealed the Magic V Flip 2’s domestic debut in China will take place on August 21, and noted that global market timing will follow thereafter. Honor’s announcement suggests that the U.S. launch is part of its staggered rollout plan, though precise timing may depend on regional certifications, supply chain readiness, and carrier partnerships.

With the U.S. debut looming, expectations are building around how Honor will price the Magic V Flip 2 stateside. The leaked domestic pricing in China — starting at 5,999 yuan (around $835 USD) — hints that the U.S. version might undercut rival foldables if Honor maintains a similarly aggressive stance. For consumers, that could mean a more affordable gateway into high-end foldables.
In terms of hardware, the Magic V Flip 2 comes packed with upgrades. It features a Snapdragon 8-series chipset, a 5,500 mAh battery, 80 W wired charging support, and a dual-camera setup with a high-resolution main sensor. Honor also revamped the design, including a larger external display and a refreshed camera layout that better balances aesthetics and function.
Even though the U.S. window is confirmed, potential buyers should remain cautious. Honor must still navigate regulatory certification, carrier compatibility (especially with CDMA or U.S. 5G bands), and import logistics. But for foldable enthusiasts in America, the revelation of a U.S. launch window is an encouraging indicator that a new, competitively priced option may be headed their way.
