Motorola Ultra Smartwatch to Rival Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2
Motorola appears to be working on a new Ultra smartwatch, judging from some recently emerged images. Earlier this year, Motorola launched the Moto Watch – a budget-priced smartwatch that massively undercut the Google Pixel Watch 4 and the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 on price while offering extended 13-day battery life.
Now it seems Motorola is working on a more premium follow-up. The Mac Observer has obtained images of a wearable that seems to be operating under the name of the Moto Watch Ultra. It would rival the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Huawei Watch Ultimate.
Design and Features
As you can see, its design isn’t a million miles away from the aforementioned Moto Watch, with the same rotating crown and side button placement. It seems to be a more premium product, however, with a 46mm stainless steel case and a black leather-style strap.
Moto Watch Ultra specs include built-in GPS, LTE connectivity, IP68 dust and water resistance, and water protection to 50 metres. We also get a glimpse of an optical sensor system, which suggests that advanced health and fitness tracking will be part of the Ultra package.
Launch and Availability
We have no idea when Motorola is thinking of launching this new smartwatch product, and in which regions. Presumably it’ll once again be steering clear of Google’s Wear OS platform in favour of another team-up with Polar and could undercut rivals on price like the regular Moto Watch.
Motorola Razr Flex
In separate Motorola news, uber-leaker Evan Blass has posted a teaser for a new Motorola Razr Flex product. Could this be Motorola’s take on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and iPhone Ultra, with a wider aspect ratio? Or, if we’re taking that Flex name literally, might it even add a 360-degree hinge to a foldable device?
Stay tuned for more on this one. We’re intrigued, especially given how good the Motorola Razr Fold proved to be, plus rumours of Samsung working on a 360-degree flip phone. The Motorola Razr Flex could potentially rival the Samsung Galaxy S25, Apple iPhone 15, and the iPad Air M2 in terms of innovation and design.
