Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Watch 9 and Ultra 2, the latest additions to its smartwatch lineup. The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is designed for outdoor enthusiasts, with a larger 800mAh cell, improved durability, and a thinner design. The Galaxy Watch 9, on the other hand, is more compact and affordable, with a 20% increase in battery size for the 44mm model.
Both watches feature brighter displays, with the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 reaching an impressive 5000 nits of peak brightness. They also boast new fitness tracking metrics, including Vitals, Heart Health Score, Daily Cardio Load, and Fitness Index. The watches are powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite processor, which provides a noticeable uptick in everyday performance.
The Galaxy Watch 9 starts at £349, while the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 costs £649. Pre-orders are now live, and the watches were unveiled on 22 July at Galaxy Unpacked in London. The new watches are more expensive than their predecessors, but they offer significant upgrades and improvements.
