Google Pixel 11 Gets Smart Features
Google Pixel 11 Series to Launch with Exciting New Features
As the launch of the Google Pixel 11 series approaches, news has emerged of two innovative features that will make the devices even more user-friendly. According to reports, Google is working on a new experimental Device Help feature that will allow users to troubleshoot issues with their phone using natural language.
For example, if a user tells the Gemini app that their screen is too yellow, the app will examine the device’s settings and suggest a fix, such as adjusting the Night Light feature. This feature is currently in development under the Labs label, but it has the potential to be a game-changer for Pixel users.
App Launch Shortcut to Revolutionise Lock Screen
In another exciting development, the Android 17 QPR2 Beta 2 contains references to an App Launch Shortcut feature. This will enable users to launch apps directly from their lock screen, much like they can currently access the camera or torch without unlocking their phone.
The new feature is expected to provide more lock screen shortcut options, as well as the ability to add multiple app shortcuts at once. This move is seen as Google addressing a limitation of its Pixel UI compared to third-party Android partners, such as Samsung, which offers lock screen widgets on devices like the Samsung Galaxy S25.
Additionally, references to Quick Affordances have been discovered, which are described as interactive UI elements that appear on the lock screen. This could enable features like scanning a QR code or drafting a message to become much quicker on future versions of Android, with Pixel users likely to benefit first.
The upcoming Google Pixel 11 series is expected to launch with these new features, which will likely give it an edge over other smartphones on the market, including the Apple iPhone 17 and the OnePlus 12 Pro. With the Google Assistant set to be phased out on September 4, it’s clear that Google is committed to making its Pixel devices more intuitive and user-friendly.
