Craig Federighi’s Funniest Moments at Apple’s WWDC in the UK
Craig Federighi’s Most Side-Splitting Moments at Apple’s WWDC
As the WWDC keynote approaches, Apple enthusiasts in the UK are in for a treat, with the event taking place on 8 June 2026 at 6pm BST. The highlight of the show is often the appearances by Craig Federighi, Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, who brings a touch of humour to the proceedings.
Craig’s comedic sketches have become a staple of the WWDC, and this year is expected to be no exception. From his James Bond-esque entrance to his Baywatch moment, Craig always manages to bring a smile to the faces of the audience.
One of the most memorable moments was when Craig threw himself out of a plane, assembling a lacklustre crew and jumping out of an Apple-themed jet in corporate jumpsuits. He even packed his AirPods and turned his iPhone off Airplane Mode before deploying his parachute.
Craig’s MacOS segment in 2020 was also noteworthy, as he dramatically revealed a vintage red sports car and drove to a hidden Apple base without a single hair on his head being swept out of place. The fact that Apple CarPlay was installed on this retro vehicle was the icing on the cake.
In another instance, Craig headed ‘downstairs’ in a scene reminiscent of Doctor Evil’s lair, holding a power stance in the middle of the room like a character from Street Fighter. He took us on a twenty-second elevator ride, where the entire floor opened up after he tapped once on his Apple Watch.
Craig’s Baywatch moment was also a highlight, as he ran through Apple HQ, his silver locks bouncing in the wind. The camera slowed down, giving us an HD shot of the software engineer running his hand through his hair, before he skidded into the frame without breaking stride in his presentation.
In a more unusual segment, Craig seduced a MacBook, dimming the lights to a sultry pink and playing some Barry White in the background as he stared intimately at the laptop in front of him. It was a cringe-worthy yet hilarious moment that left the audience in stitches.
Craig also showcased his Magneto powers, summoning an iPad at will and sending it back again. He even adopted a serious expression of concentration as he used his ‘power’, committing fully to the joke.
In a leap of faith, Craig opened a hole in the ground with his foot and jumped into the abyss, landing safely in the dimly lit ‘Privacy’ room to discuss a serious topic for Apple users. It was a short but sweet moment that left the audience wondering what other secrets Apple HQ holds.
Craig’s parkour skills were also on display, as he freeran through buildings, grunting with effort as he swung over perfectly usable stairs. The skater-style music in the background added to the humour, leaving us wondering if this is how he gets to all his meetings.
Lastly, Craig played a guitar with three necks, shredding a solo on stage during a live event. It was an impressive display of his musical skills, and a great introduction for the next speaker, Ron.
