Garmin Cirqa Paywalled Feature to Become Free

In a welcome move for UK customers, Garmin has announced that the live heart rate feature on the Garmin Cirqa will no longer be paywalled behind the Garmin Connect+ subscription. This decision comes after criticism that such a basic feature was hidden behind a paywall, especially considering the Garmin Cirqa is marketed as a cost-effective alternative to the Whoop Strap, which requires an annual subscription starting at £169.

The Garmin Cirqa is positioned as a more affordable option to the Whoop Strap, with a one-time cost of £179.99. In comparison, the Fitbit Air, another Whoop competitor, can operate without a subscription but offers additional features with the Google Health Coach tier, which provides AI-infused insights and personalized training.

Availability and Stock Issues

Despite the positive news, UK customers may face a wait to get their hands on the Garmin Cirqa. Most colourways have an estimated dispatch time of up to five weeks, although some options like the Mauve and French Grey are available for delivery within one to three business days.

This stock issue is not unique to the Garmin Cirqa, as the Fitbit Air also experienced similar availability problems at launch. For those willing to opt for a different colour, it’s still possible to get the Garmin Cirqa sooner rather than later.
