In Australia’s crowded budget phone market, the Galaxy M16 5G is quietly winning attention for its no-nonsense, reliable performance. It may not pack flashy features, but it does everything you need without fuss. From social apps to video calls to light gaming, the phone handles day-to-day tasks smoothly, with no major slowdowns or surprises. For users who just want things to work, that matters more than flashy specs.
The phone’s design feels solid and user-friendly. It’s comfortable to hold, and the matte finish keeps the surface clean. In a sea of budget phones that feel cheap, the M16 stands out simply by feeling well-built and modern.
Standout Battery Life Keeps Users Running
One of the main reasons this phone is being praised is its exceptional battery life. The 6000mAh cell easily powers users through a full day of heavy usage — even with mobile data and video streaming — and often reaches into the next day without needing a recharge. That peace of mind is appealing to people who hate being tied to the charger.
Although there’s no charger in the box, Australia’s familiar wall adapters work perfectly. Charging is neither fast nor slow — it’s steady and dependable, much like the rest of the phone.
Smooth Display Feels Good Every Day
The Galaxy M16 5G includes a 120Hz refresh rate display, which makes everyday navigation feel noticeably smoother. Scrolling through feed, switching apps, reading articles—all feel just a bit more polished than on typical 60Hz screens. It’s subtle, but it changes how you interact with the phone, and many buyers say they don’t want to go back to a lower refresh rate. The full HD+ resolution keeps visuals crisp and easy on the eyes, whether you’re indoors or under bright sunlight.
Australian Pricing Makes It Hard to Ignore
In Australia, the Galaxy M16 5G is currently priced around $289 for the 6GB RAM, 128GB storage version. The 8GB model is closer to $319. At this price point, it goes head-to-head with many other budget phones, but none offer quite the balanced combination of battery, display smoothness, and brand reliability that Samsung brings.
Final Take: Quiet King of the Budget Segment
The Galaxy M16 5G may not grab headlines or promise flagship performance, but in real-world use, it excels where it counts. Its long-lasting battery, smooth screen, and dependable performance make it feel more valuable than other phones in its category. For buyers in Australia who want a smart, no-nonsense phone that just works, this one might quietly become the budget king.
UK Buyers Are Surprised By Its Everyday Performance
Users across the UK have started rating the Galaxy M16 5G with high praise for its smooth everyday performance. Many who purchased it after launch are posting reviews describing the phone as “brilliant” and “well worth the money.” One user mentioned that switching from a premium device was easy because the phone “can do everything my much more expensive Samsung can do.” These real-world impressions are turning heads, and the ratings reflect genuine satisfaction—not just marketing talk.
People are appreciating that the phone handles common tasks—like messaging, video calls, and browsing—with ease. It doesn’t lag or slow down during normal use, and reviewers often say it “just works.” That type of reliability is winning over buyers who don’t need flashy specs but insist their phone does the basics well.
Display And Battery Life Earn Repeated Compliments
Two features stand out in the positive feedback: the screen and the battery. Reviewers often mention that the Super AMOLED display, despite not being a flagship-level panel, offers sharp colors and smooth visuals. While some sources report a 90 Hz refresh rate, others confirm it feels much smoother than typical budget phones. That fluidity has impressed users switching from 60 Hz screens.
Battery life is another highlight. Early users report full-day battery life even with continuous use. Although some mention the included 5000mAh battery is slightly smaller than last year’s 6000mAh, it still consistently lasts an entire day and sometimes stretches into the next. That kind of reliability remains a major selling point among everyday users.
UK Price In Dollar Format Feels Generous
In the UK, the Galaxy M16 5G is listed for around £112, which converts to approximately $139 using current exchange rates. For a Samsung-branded 5G phone with a smooth display, reliable performance, and real software support, that price feels more than fair. Users frequently comment that it’s good value for money, especially compared to other models that cut corners to match the price.
Strong Trust In Samsung Brand And Software Support
Many UK buyers also note the familiarity of Samsung’s software as reassuring. The phone ships with One UI and comes with promises of long-term updates, which boosts confidence in its longevity. For new buyers, this feels like more than just a low-cost phone—it’s a future-proofed device from a brand they trust.
That trust, combined with real-world satisfaction, is reflected in the glowing ratings. It isn’t just online influencers praising the model; it’s genuine users across different demographics leaving high comments.
Early Ratings Point To A Steady Seller
So far, the UK’s reception of the Galaxy M16 5G is shaping up as one of the company’s better midrange launches. With strong battery life, a smooth display, dependability in daily use, and honest pricing at $139, it’s building positive momentum among real users. If this continues, the phone could well become a steady seller in the UK market.
Buyers in Australia can now get the Samsung Galaxy M16 5G delivered directly from local retailers. After initial buzz and pre-orders, stock has started arriving in warehouses, which means orders are being fulfilled faster. This shift from waiting to receiving boosts confidence among buyers and helps reduce the uncertainty around delivery timelines—something that has held many back from committing earlier.
It’s a welcome update for people who’ve been checking product listings frequently. Knowing that the phone is now shipping straight from Australia means no unexpected delays from import or international delivery hiccups. As a result, more people are deciding to place orders without second thoughts.
Local Shipping Brings Convenience And Warranty Peace
One big advantage of phones shipping from Australia is that they remain under local warranty and support. For buyers, that means faster replacement options if something goes wrong, proper service coverage, and peace of mind knowing they’re not ordering grey‑import devices. The decision becomes easier when you know help is just down the street if needed.
Many users have mentioned that they value this aspect nearly as much as the phone itself—it removes hesitation and often makes the difference between adding to cart or continuing to browse.
No Extra Cost For Local Shipping
The Galaxy M16 5G is priced at $289 for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage model, while the 8GB version is listed around $319. With shipping now coming from local warehouses, there are no added import fees or surprise costs at checkout. Buyers are relieved that they can pay the price they see—no customs, no delays, no extra surprises.
This transparency in cost and delivery is helping boost confidence across platforms and reviews, making it easier for people to decide quickly.
Fast Arrival Sparks Renewed Interest
With faster delivery times, retailers are noticing a pickup in orders. Social media and tech discussion boards are seeing more posts about people actually receiving the phone rather than just talking about it. Those early buyers are now sharing their unboxing and setup experience, which feeds into word-of-mouth. That firsthand feedback is igniting more curiosity and convincing more people to buy while supplies last.
Final Thought For Australian Buyers
If you’ve been eyeing the Galaxy M16 5G in Australia, now is a good moment to act. With stock now shipping locally, shipping delays have become a thing of the past. Buyers get full warranty support, zero extra costs, and quicker delivery. For those who want a dependable, smooth phone with long battery life and solid build — and don’t want to wait weeks — this is the right time to order.
The Galaxy M16 5G is quietly making a strong impression in the smartphone space—not by shouting with flashy specs, but by doing the basics really well. Users are praising it for exactly what midrange buyers care about: smooth everyday performance, strong battery life, and reliable software. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, and that’s what’s winning people over.
In a market filled with overly complicated features and aggressive marketing, the M16 5G feels refreshingly simple. It runs clean software, has a display that feels good to use, and performs consistently across the board. These are the things that matter to most people, and Samsung seems to understand that with this release.
Display, Battery, And Build Quality Stand Out
People who’ve picked up the Galaxy M16 5G often talk about how nice the display feels to use. The 120Hz refresh rate might not sound like a big deal on paper, but in daily use, it makes scrolling and app transitions feel smoother than expected. It’s the kind of thing users notice when they switch from older phones, and it improves the overall experience without any extra effort.
The battery is another area where the phone delivers exactly what users want. With its 6000mAh capacity, it comfortably powers through a full day and still has charge left by the end. For anyone tired of carrying a power bank or worrying about battery levels, this phone solves that problem outright.
Real-World Performance Matches Expectations
What people are really noticing is how balanced the M16 5G feels in day-to-day use. It doesn’t lag under pressure, and apps open without delay. It might not be built for heavy-duty gaming, but for messaging, streaming, navigation, and calls—it handles everything smoothly. That’s where most people spend their time on a phone anyway.
There’s no over-complication, and that simplicity makes it feel polished. Buyers aren’t overwhelmed with unnecessary features they’ll never use. Instead, they get a clean, functional experience right out of the box.
Pricing Keeps It In Demand
With a price starting at around $179 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model, and about $199 for the 8GB version, the Galaxy M16 5G hits a sweet spot. It’s priced low enough to feel like a great deal, but not so cheap that it raises doubts about quality. Buyers are finding comfort in knowing they’re getting real value from a trusted brand.
Why It’s Getting Noticed
The reason the Galaxy M16 5G is getting so much attention isn’t hype—it’s consistency. It’s delivering what people actually want from a budget phone: long battery, smooth performance, and solid build. With no major compromises and a price that feels fair, it’s no surprise more people are starting to talk about it.
Samsung has launched many phones this year, but the Galaxy M16 5G is quietly building its own place without much noise. It didn’t come with a big marketing push or flashy camera gimmicks, yet it’s quickly finding appreciation among everyday users. The phone focuses on real-world use rather than headline specs, and that’s why some are starting to call it the dark horse of Samsung’s current lineup.
It’s not about being flashy. Instead, the M16 5G offers a balance that people actually need. It performs smoothly, lasts long, and doesn’t demand a high price. For many, it turns out to be the better choice—just not the one they expected to pick.
Balanced Features That Exceed Expectations
One of the main reasons the Galaxy M16 5G stands out is because it’s so well-rounded. It doesn’t try to push features that most users won’t use. Instead, it delivers a responsive 120Hz display, dependable performance, and a large battery that comfortably lasts through the day. That kind of simplicity often goes unnoticed until users start using it every day and realize how reliable it is.
There are no major weak points either. While it’s not designed to compete with Samsung’s premium series, it doesn’t feel like a compromise either. It fits well into the lifestyle of someone who wants a smooth experience without paying a premium.
Samsung’s Software Experience Adds Value
Another aspect working in its favor is Samsung’s One UI. The phone runs a clean and smooth version of the software, with promised updates that ensure it won’t feel outdated anytime soon. The interface is familiar, fast, and clutter-free. It gives the device an edge over other phones in the same range that often come loaded with unnecessary apps or poor update cycles.
That long-term support adds confidence for buyers who don’t want to switch phones every year. It’s the kind of detail that may not grab headlines but really matters in the long run.
A Price That Feels Smart
Currently, the Galaxy M16 5G is available at around $179 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, while the 8GB version comes in close to $199. At this price, it’s hard to find many alternatives offering this level of balance and brand reliability. People who choose it often walk away feeling like they made a smart decision—not just a cheap one.
Quietly Becoming A Favorite
While other models may dominate the spotlight, the Galaxy M16 5G is steadily building a reputation among those who care about value and consistency. It may not lead the conversation, but in real-world use, it delivers more than most expect. That’s why it could very well be the dark horse of Samsung’s current smartphone lineup.
New Freely Box Offers UK Viewers a Cost-Free TV Upgrade
A new free-to-use TV platform has arrived in the UK, offering a fresh alternative to Sky-style services without any subscription fees. The launch of the Pleio box, built to run the Freely platform, brings premium-style features to households using only a broadband connection, making it one of the most talked-about TV additions this month.
Freely, backed by major UK broadcasters including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5, was previously limited to newer smart TVs. The Pleio device now makes it available to almost any TV with HDMI, giving millions of homes access to live channels and on-demand content entirely over the internet.
The platform replicates the feel of a traditional TV service, offering a full programme guide, live channel browsing and seamless catch-up viewing. This approach gives viewers the familiarity of Freeview or Sky, but without the need for a dish, aerial or ongoing payments — a significant draw at a time when households are cutting entertainment costs.
Beyond the core free service, the Pleio box adds features often associated with premium platforms. It runs an Android TV interface, allowing users to install streaming apps like Netflix, Disney+ and YouTube. This turns the box into a complete entertainment hub rather than a simple tuner replacement.
The device also includes support for over 150 extra streaming channels through optional add-ons, offering more variety for those who want expanded content. While optional, these extras create a hybrid experience blending free broadcast-style viewing with modern streaming flexibility.
UK families may also find value in its built-in cloud gaming catalogue, which adds another layer of functionality uncommon in free-to-air systems. This helps position Pleio as a multi-purpose entertainment device rather than just a budget TV solution.
Early demand for the box has been notably strong, with retailers reporting greater interest than expected. The timing is ideal, arriving as many households reassess monthly TV bills and explore ways to reduce costs without losing key channels.
This launch marks another step in the UK’s shift toward internet-based television delivery. With broadband coverage improving nationwide, Freely’s arrival through the Pleio box shows how traditional TV models are being reimagined around flexibility and affordability.
For viewers seeking a Sky-like experience without a contract, the Pleio box gives a compelling new option. Its combination of live channels, on-demand content and premium-style extras could make it one of the standout free TV solutions heading into the new year.
As more homes test the device, the broader impact on the UK pay-TV landscape will become clearer. For now, the Pleio launch showcases how a no-subscription platform can still deliver a feature-rich, modern TV experience.
The UK television landscape is undergoing a notable change with the arrival and expansion of Freely, a new free IP-based service backed by the main public broadcasters. Unlike traditional free-to-air platforms, it delivers live channels, movies, sports highlights and kids’ content via broadband without requiring a subscription. This shift is opening up fresh choice for UK viewers and signalling a broader transition in how free TV is delivered.
Freely launched in 2024 under the umbrella of Everyone TV, a joint venture of broadcasters including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5. At launch it provided a streamlined guide combining live and on-demand content from those public service channels. Over time it has added more channels, content categories and device support, making it more compelling for UK households.
One of the biggest UK-relevant developments is the expansion of Freely into movie, sports and children’s content. Reports indicate that in its next phase (2026) it will introduce a host of new channels including one geared to classic films and dedicated kids’ and sports-oriented offerings. This means UK viewers will have FREE access to richer entertainment bundles than before—without monthly fees.
A unique strength of Freely is that it doesn’t require a subscription or contract. As an internet-delivered service integrated into compatible smart TVs or via a streaming device, it sidesteps some of the cost and commitment barriers of traditional pay-TV or premium streaming tiers. For UK consumers looking for value, that is a meaningful change.
From a practical viewpoint, UK households should check if their equipment is compatible: Freely currently appears on newer smart TVs from selected brands and a plug-in device for older sets is planned. Users will benefit from ensuring they have reliable broadband, and may need to update firmware or software to access Freely’s full guide.
Another aspect to watch is how Freely complements or replaces existing free services. Many UK homes already use platforms such as Freeview, but Freely offers a more internet-centric model, allowing easier access to additional genres like movies or kids’ shows under the free banner. Given its backing by major broadcasters, its rollout suggests a credible long-term alternative.
Looking ahead, the inclusion of sports programming is particularly interesting. While full live premium sports remain tied to paid packages, Freely’s planned new sports-related channels, highlights and analysis content represent one of the first major free offerings in that space in the UK. That could shift how viewers engage with sports media.
For parents and kids, the expansion into children’s channels and shows means that family-friendly content is becoming more accessible without extra cost. This could influence how UK households budget for streaming and entertainment, offering more flexibility and reducing dependency on subscription-only kids’ services.
In summary: the UK free TV ecosystem is being enhanced by Freely’s expansion into movies, sports and kids’ entertainment. For UK viewers seeking more value without paying a monthly subscription, this is a major development. As coverage and device support grow, Freely looks set to become a key part of the UK TV-watching experience.
How a major upgrade is opening up free TV to more UK viewers
The streaming platform Freely has announced an important expansion in the UK, meaning that far more smart TVs will now be able to access free live channels and on-demand content via broadband rather than relying solely on aerial or satellite. This upgrade represents a major shift in how viewers can watch free TV at home.
Managed by Everyone TV (a consortium comprising BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5), Freely was designed to bring together live and on-demand TV in a single guide, accessible via internet connection. The recent rollout sees Freely integrated into a wider range of smart TVs and now moving into streaming-device territory.
One key piece of the expansion is the addition of at least 10 new channels, covering categories such as true crime, movies, business news and reality TV. These channels are set to arrive on the platform in 2026, further broadening the content available to UK households for no subscription. Furthermore, Freely is being embedded into more set-top plug-in devices, meaning even older or non-smart TVs could gain access via a compatible box.
For UK viewers, the benefits are clear. With Freely’s expansion, the “free TV” experience becomes less dependent on aerial signal strength or satellite dish installation—and more on simply connecting the TV to broadband. This is significant in homes where aerial reception is poor, or where users prefer the convenience of streaming. Also, the growing number of channels means a fuller TV-watching experience without paying for subscriptions.
To take advantage of this development, UK households should consider the following: first, check if their smart TV already supports Freely or can receive the new streaming device option soon. Smart TVs from a wide range of manufacturers already include Freely integration, and the new plug-in boxes will allow older sets to join too. Second, ensure a reliable broadband connection is in place since streaming replaces traditional broadcast methods. And third, review the new channel list and on-demand offerings to identify what additional value the expanded service brings to your household’s viewing habits.
This move also signals a broader transition in UK television broadcasting: the shift from traditional terrestrial or satellite to IP-based delivery (internet streaming). By making free channels easier to access via internet-connected devices, Freely is positioning itself as a successor to conventional free-to-air platforms. For many viewers this means less fuss with aerials or tuning and more flexibility in how, when and where they watch.
In the broader context, this expansion may influence how UK households budget for TV services. With more free channels and content accessible via Freely, some viewers might choose to reduce or cancel paid subscriptions to other streaming services or pay-TV packages. The increased choice and zero-subscription model may offer meaningful savings for viewers.
Overall, the expansion of Freely in the UK means that millions more TVs now can receive free, live-and-on-demand channels via internet streaming. For UK viewers seeking to watch live TV without a monthly fee, this upgrade marks a valuable moment — and one that reflects the evolving media landscape away from traditional broadcast methods and towards internet-based delivery.

BANCHMARKS AND PERFORMANCE of Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition
I know you people are waiting for the benchmarks and performance part right so before we directly get there first of all let me tell you about the hardware configuration of the model we have in the home today so our lap top is based on Intel’s core Ultra Series 2 platform available in like different CPU variants our model is powered by Intel’s core Ultra 728 V it’s basically 8 core. There CPU with a max turbo clock of up to 4.8 GHz so I’ve told you at the beginning hyper threading has been completely removed guys so that concept is not there in this series too. Talking about the integrated Graphics here we’re getting Intel’s ARC graphics 4V which is almost 1.5 times faster than the previous gen and not to miss out the NPU as well you’re getting an upgraded Intel AI boost NPU right that can offer up to 47 tops and is almost like four times faster than the previous gen NPU.
Lenovo Yoga slim 7i Aura Edition
If you’re like a student or maybe you’re from AI background in your work right and you run a lot of AI models generative AI related applications or that NPU can definitely come in handy for you people apart from that Windows has also Introduced a lot of new AI features specifically for the Co-pilot plus PCS like for example live captions co-creator option and not to miss out Studio Effects as well co-pilot plus PCS are like a new range of Windows PCS introduced recently in the market. That are specifically designed for AI related workloads and applications so before we directly check out the benchmarks first of all let me tell you what exactly is new on the series 2 CPUs as I’ve told you brand new lunar Lake architecture and with this architecture. Right motherboard size has been greatly reduced by almost 27% so this leads to an increased overall cooling efficiency in the laptop and not only that this also shortens the distance between CPU and memory that means the ram is directly integrated on the CPU only guys so what happens is this greatly increases the bandwidth and reduces the latency.
As well only downside is you won’t be able to upgrade the RAM later guys so it is soldered on board so make sure you choose the right variant depending on the requirement at the 16 GB or 32 GB while buying only. so I’ve been using the laptop for the last couple of days for my day-to-day related Works office related stuff you know like photo editing, text editing I’ve also ran like a dozen Chrome tabs in the background and nothing seemed to slow it down overall performance has been great for my day-to-day usage.
GRAPHIC of Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition
this is not a dedicated gaming laptop so don’t expect You’ be able to play like train Title Games with maximum graphics with triple digit FPS no this is not made for that purpose but, still who’s going to stop us from playing games, I mean yes casual gaming You’ like to do right.
So that is what we’ll be testing out right now for that sake we will be playing some of the popular AAA Title Games in the market right now and that to starting off with our all-time favorite GTA 5 we will be playing this game at 1080p resolution and all the graphics set to normal preset and there you go boys just sit back relax and hope you enjoy the game play oh are you people looking at that frame rate not bad right, I mean look at that triple digit FPS on an average so at 1080p normal Graphics card we were easily getting around 150 to 155 FPS.
The laptop also comes with something known as Lenovo AI Core. so this is basically like an Adaptive power management system that is all done using ai Lenovo’s ai core is specifically designed to intelligently manage your performance and power efficiency no matter what sort of applications or workloads.
You’re doing maybe you’re doing some sort of creative applications where you’re rendering some videos or 3D models. All is done using like an Innovative AI chip which is present on board also remember at the beginning I’ve told you that Lenovo’s or Edition PCS offer some exclusive experiences here you’re getting something known as smart modes Smart Share and also smart care AA experiences basically use AI enhanced features to intelligently adapt to whatever, you’re doing no matter the scenario you can access these smart modes either via the Leno Vantage app or directly by clicking on F9 function key on the keyboard for a quick access Widget.
AI & OTHER FEATURE with Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition
The first thing I have to talk about is The Shield feature which uses AI enhanced computer vision technology and recommends action for digital protection say for example you’re working in a public place maybe at a cafe or in a park there are chances somebody might peep at your laptop screen without your notice right from behind you in these sort of scenarios all you need to do is enable this option called as privacy alert and with the help of AI enhanced webcam the laptop will immediately alert you if someone is actually looking at your screen over your shoulder and in case if you’re dealing with a bit more sensitive data maybe like something on the important, then you can use this feature instead called as privacy guard this will directly blur the screen instead of an alert. so the guy trying to peep into your laptop screen won’t be able to see anything that is pretty awesome.
Let’s move on to the second Ora feature called as attention I’ll be honest with you these days it’s pretty hard to concentrate on your work considering how many distractions there are like social media apps YouTube games and a lot more in that case simply use this feature called as attention timer so you can set this for a certain period of time and the laptop will make sure you won’t get deviated from your work by suppressing unwanted disruptions distractions and silencing all your notifications you can even make a domain block list in case required.
The third feature is called as collaboration which offers some AI enhanced audio and video effects for a much better communication great for business people conferences or especially if you have a lot of meetings lastly you’re also getting some power optimization and wellness integration as well includes both eye wellness and posture warning so Lenovo is basically trying to help manage your Wellness with the help of its AI enhanced camera.
It gives you timely reminders to take a break from looking at the laptop screen and even tells you to sit upright if your posture is poor lastly in the power section you’ve got three different Power modes to choose from depending on your requirements and the scenario moving on let me tell you about this interesting feature called a smart Share which is powered by Intel’s Unison app offers instant tap and share between your mobile and laptop once paid you can easily share all the data on your phone’s gallery and instantly copy files to and through all of this wirelessly.
My phone is not connected to the laptop yet, I can easily access everything present over here in my phone’s Gallery makes things quite convenient. I would say lastly not to miss out Lenovo smart K feature which offers expertise support at your fingertips easily accessible from the Lenovo’s Vantage app offers the right support when you need it with real time troubleshooting from their expert technicians here you can have a chat with their virtual assistant or even have like a live chat with their agent to get immediate help for all your PC related queries.
The Fire TV Stick remains one of the most widely used streaming gadgets in the UK, and 2025 brings a handful of new tricks, updated features and practical shortcuts that can make the device feel faster, cleaner and far more enjoyable. Many households rely on the Stick daily, yet only a small fraction of users tap into the deeper settings and time-saving controls hidden within the system. With new updates rolling out across the year, now is the perfect moment for UK viewers to refresh how they use their Fire TV Stick and unlock features that make a real difference in everyday streaming.
One of the biggest changes UK users have noticed this year is the smarter performance mode built into the latest Fire OS update. The Fire TV Stick can now automatically adjust system resources to keep apps running more smoothly, and with a quick manual reboot once a week, the device maintains peak speed. Clearing the app cache every so often can also prevent slow menus or buffering, especially for households juggling services like BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Netflix and Prime Video.
Another essential tip for 2025 is making full use of profile personalisation. UK users frequently switch between family members, and the Fire TV Stick’s profile system has become far more accurate in separating watchlists, recommendations and parental controls. Setting up specific kids’ profiles with age-appropriate filters ensures younger viewers only see safe content across apps, while adults can fine-tune their own lists without clutter. This saves time and keeps the interface tailored to each person’s taste.
Voice controls have also taken a major step forward. Alexa now handles complex commands more reliably, including opening specific episodes, switching inputs and adjusting smart-home settings linked around the home. For UK households with Echo speakers, the Fire TV Stick can function as part of a shared ecosystem, allowing users to start shows hands-free or control the TV’s volume without picking up the remote. Simple phrases can now cut through menus that would normally take several clicks.
Connectivity improvements are another area where tips truly matter. Many UK homes experience Wi-Fi congestion during peak hours, so switching the Fire TV Stick to the 5GHz band can dramatically reduce buffering. For users with older routers or thick walls, an inexpensive Ethernet adapter can create a wired connection that transforms streaming stability. Checking for interference from nearby devices and placing the router in a central location also makes a noticeable difference to 4K playback.
UK users should also look closely at the expanded Live TV section. This area now brings together services like Freevee, BBC channels, Pluto TV and others in one unified guide. Organising favourite channels, removing those you don’t watch and adjusting the channel order can make casual browsing faster. For viewers who miss the feel of traditional TV, the updated guide provides a familiar layout without needing an aerial or Freeview box.
Another feature often overlooked is the ability to sideload apps safely. While every UK user should remain cautious, installing approved apps through Amazon’s official channels or reputable developers allows greater flexibility, especially for tools like file managers or media players. This is particularly useful for households using NAS drives or home media servers, giving them more control over private libraries without relying solely on cloud-based services.
Space management also plays a crucial role in keeping the Fire TV Stick running smoothly. Many users install apps they rarely open, and deleting unused ones can free up precious storage. Fire OS now includes better tools to review app sizes, remove old downloads and keep internal memory from filling up. This leads to faster app launches and fewer system warnings, especially for users running dozens of streaming platforms.
Finally, UK viewers should take advantage of the Energy Saver mode. With rising energy costs, the Fire TV Stick now automatically enters a deeper sleep state when idle, but users can adjust or speed up the timer in settings. This reduces electricity usage without affecting performance. Pairing the Stick with a smart plug also offers scheduled shutdowns or remote access, giving UK households tighter control over power consumption.
In 2025, the Fire TV Stick remains a powerful device when managed well, and these updated features can significantly enhance day-to-day use. By optimising performance, using smarter voice controls, organising live channels and tightening security and storage, UK users can get more from their streaming setup and keep everything feeling fresh for the year ahead.
In this post we’re going to be doing an unboxing and I’m going to give my first impressions on the Galaxy s25 Ultra this phone is available for pre-order at the time of this post. If you want to check it out for yourself the retail price is $1300 comes in seven different colors.
We have black gray silver and this blue color we’re going to be checking out here today and there’s three exclusive colors pink gold jet black and Jade green. There’s three different configurations to choose from we have 256 GB storage standard 512 GB and up to 1 terb of storage, And all these models come packed with 12 GB of RAM shout out to Samsung for sending out.
We get in the box
We get a type- c to type-c charging cable, We get a little bit of paperwork and We have a SIM ejection tool but that’s everything inside. Let’s go ahead and check out the star of the show here the Galaxy s25 Ultra First Impressions immediately add the packaging even though this is the blue color in some angles like my top down shot here. It definitely looks gray but if you put it into different lighting conditions. We also have some physical refinements going on here compared to last year’s s24 Ultra the most notable change here is that we are getting rounded Corners now on this s25 Ultra.
That conventional boxy design, That we took over from the Galaxy Notes and made their way over to the S Series. It still overall does have that boxy appearance to it. If you compare this to and s24 from last year, You can see much more rounded corners on those devices. They were on last year’s s24 but they’re flattened out here now it is worth mentioning that we still do have a rounded feel on the back of this s25 Ultra so you have a nice rounded feeling in the back. The rounded Corners to comp it and having lighter weight makes this feel like a much more.
It is taking a quick physical tour now on the left side we have our 5G antenna on the right. We have our volume rockers and our power button on the top. if you want to however there is no micro SD expansion. we have our type-c Port capable of 45 w super fast charge. All the way over here on the left love the S Pen functionality with this overall physically seems to feel and look very similar to the previous sens might have a little bit different of a tip at the top.
Display and bezels of Galaxy s25 Ultra
Now taking our first look at the 6.9 in 1440p 120htz AMOLED display we do have a little bit of a larger display. Now on this s25 Ultra compared to The s24 from last year. We do have what looks like an entirely flat display here on this s25 Ultra so no Edge display going on here and as far as the Antireflectivity. It looks to be the same on this s25 as it was on last year’s s24 but with all that out of the way I’m going to go ahead put my information in this phone use it for the day and I’ll come back with my final First Impressions on the Galaxy s25 Ultra all right so it’s been a full day.
Now since I first started using this s25 Ultra I’m definitely ready to share some of my first impressions with you guys so getting into the phone the Biometrics we have an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner this gets you. Then we also have the face recognition on top either way it gets you into your phone super quick.
Samsung S 25 Ultra
Once you’re in you’ll be greeted by the new 6.9 in display I’ve been really enjoying this display my first day of usage actually a little bit more over the s24 ultra to my surprise, I think mainly because this s25 Ultra is slim down a little more on the sides. We do have that slight bezel reduction, But overall we have what feels like a little bit more compact of a phone with still a very large display.
It just makes this s25 Ultra a lot more enjoyable to use in your average everyday usage, Using it for extended periods of time watching YouTube on it. I’ve noticed go really well with these physical refinements are the software refinements with one ui7 this has been a very clean software, So for really the only differences. You have are that you swipe down from the top to get to your notifications then you swipe down from the top right corner to access your quick settings similar to what we’ve had on, I phones for a while now but overall, The performance on this has been extremely smooth opening all your applications.
Battery on this one and charge timing
Battery UI 7, So we have a little bit of some updated icons and things too really like how smooth and fluid it is initially and something else. That has also been noticeably improved on this s25 Ultra is the battery life even though we have the same capacity of 5,000 milliamp hours as we had on last year’s s24 Ultra. I am getting noticeably more battery life on this s25 Ultra.
Some gaming testing for about a half an hour doing a fair amount of web browsing writing some notes and Samsung Notes playing around with some of the AI features in the gallery. If you’re doing basic things just browsing on YouTube and just going on the news and social media apps you are going to get phenomenal battery life. So I’m definitely excited to test out this battery further in the next couple of days.
A look at the cameras around back of Samsung S 25 Ultra
Taking a look at the cameras around back we have the same setup here as what we had on last year’s s24 Ultra the only difference now is on that Ultra wide lens. We now have a 50 megapixel option instead of of just the 12 megapixel but, overall by far this is Samsung’s most versatile camera system on any of their phones we have so many options here with the zoom, we have that ultrawide which can now go up to that 50 megapixel option.
We also have a two times which is new now on this s25 Ultra and then the same as we had before the three times Optical the new five times Optical, The 10 times which is technically a digital but gives you near Optical quality of previous Ultra phones and Here’s a look at the 30 times and 100 times zoom in action, So overall a ton of Versatility on this camera as far as all the different zoom lenses. Expected the 200 MP mode is giving me some really good results in my usage. So picture my puppy, Here you can zoom in really close you still have a ton of detail on your photos, So really liking the 200 MP mode initially looking at the video side of things and my initial 4K 60 filming looks really smooth here.
I just wanted to see the front-facing camera in addition to that rear camera and this is just one of many new Galaxy AI features is coming to this phone. whatever the newest device is Samsung’s going to be putting the newest Galaxy AI features into it but some of these have felt genuinely useful in my first day of use and as far as other AI functionality on this phone.
I want to address Google Gemini since this was also pushed heavily at the Samsung event. But the reality of this new Gemini functionality and features and capabilities is that in 6 months. And you’re going to have to start paying for some of the advanced features. I definitely don’t like that so this is set up by default with the long press on your phone. If you go into your settings, you can change this to Bixby and Bixby has gotten so much hate over the years but it’s actually been genuinely useful for me.
The Brightness of Samsung S 25 Ultra
The brightness to 50% it can do some of these on device features which I know that’s very basic but that simple task is something I can’t do with Gemini so if I switch back to the Gemini assistant change brightness to 50% so it says I can’t help with that. You’re going to be paying for something that can’t help you with simple functionalities. I also noticed that Bixby is better at some tasks initially compared to the Gemini assistant write an email to SS inquiries at gmail.
What’s the subject of your email checking in what would you like to say in your email hey how are things going just wanted to check in and hope to talk to you soon got it please review the drafted email and hit send when you’re ready so this opens it up on its own writes everything out that you asked for beta works really well.
I’m liking Bixby for some of these on device things. if I switch back to Gemini and try that same thing write an email to SS inqueries ” Gmail ” sure here is an email to but fact inquiries see, So it just kind of does its own thing, It’s just writing a general email which this is not even what I wanted at all so even though the Gemini is being heavily pressed in the initial coverage here personally the Bixby assistant has been better for me.
Comparison to the other Ultra devices
My first day of usage with the Slimmer bedels just the Slimmer overall feel and form factor of the phone I usually end up using the plus series of these S Series phones for the past few years, Because it is that bit smaller and lesser weight but now that we have that lighter weight on this Ultra model you’re getting best of both worlds situation here with a larger display and what feels like a very light weight phone in the hand in comparison to the other Ultra devices really the only downside to this s25 Ultra is we no longer.
Have the Bluetooth functionality of the S Pen it’s only going to be your onscreen things. You can go into things and use this kind of mouse overall feature for a lot of things with the pen, even though it doesn’t have the Bluetooth it really just mainly affects you being able to take pictures with this remotely which you can just put your hand up to take pictures with Samsung software.
Honor X9d redefines midrange smartphone standards in the US
The smartphone market in the United States has just witnessed a major shake-up with the official launch of the Honor X9d. Known for pushing innovation in affordable segments, Honor has surprised everyone with a device that blends flagship-level performance, stunning design, and durability—all while keeping a midrange price tag. The X9d’s arrival has immediately drawn attention from both tech reviewers and consumers, setting a new benchmark for value in 2025.
The Honor X9d enters the US market with a bold mission: to make high-end features accessible without crossing the $400 mark. The phone comes equipped with a massive 8,300 mAh battery, IP69K water and dust resistance, and a 108MP primary camera—features that were previously reserved for premium models. With its Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor, 12 GB RAM, and 120 Hz AMOLED display, Honor’s latest release has blurred the lines between midrange and flagship phones. For American consumers, this means access to power and endurance that rival far more expensive competitors.
One of the biggest highlights of the X9d is its exceptional battery life. The 8,300 mAh cell stands out as one of the largest in its class, promising nearly three days of moderate use on a single charge. Combined with 66W fast charging, the phone recharges from zero to full in roughly an hour. For users who rely heavily on their phones for streaming, navigation, or gaming, this endurance transforms daily usability. Battery anxiety—a common issue for most users—is virtually eliminated, giving the X9d a strong edge in real-world convenience.
Durability is another area where the X9d commands attention. With IP69K certification, the phone is built to withstand extreme conditions including high-pressure water jets and dust exposure. The reinforced frame also provides improved drop resistance, making it ideal for outdoor enthusiasts or professionals working in challenging environments. This level of toughness is rarely seen in midrange smartphones and gives the X9d a distinct advantage over rivals like Samsung’s Galaxy A-series and Motorola’s Edge lineup.
In terms of design and display, Honor hasn’t compromised either. The X9d features a 6.79-inch Full HD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering vivid colors and fluid motion for gaming and social media scrolling. The bezels are minimal, giving it a near edge-to-edge feel that mirrors premium phones. On the back, the circular camera module with a glossy finish gives it a sleek and modern aesthetic, helping the X9d stand out visually as well as technically.
Photography has always been a strength of Honor devices, and the X9d continues that tradition with a 108MP primary sensor supported by AI optimization. The phone captures clear, high-detail shots in daylight and maintains solid performance in low-light conditions thanks to advanced night algorithms. Video recording is equally impressive, with stable 4K capture made possible through optical image stabilization. For casual users and content creators alike, this camera system delivers professional-level results without a premium price tag.
Honor’s approach to performance is equally balanced. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, paired with up to 12GB RAM, ensures smooth multitasking and stable frame rates in graphics-intensive games. The software experience, built on MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14, is clean, optimized, and includes extended update support for better longevity. Features like multi-window multitasking and smart battery management add practical value for power users. Combined, these optimizations make the X9d one of the most reliable midrange phones for both productivity and entertainment.
Perhaps the biggest surprise comes in pricing. The Honor X9d’s starting price in the US market is expected to hover around $349, an aggressive move that undercuts many midrange competitors. For this amount, consumers get a feature-rich device that rivals models costing twice as much. This strategy is expected to pressure other brands like OnePlus, Motorola, and Samsung to rethink their midrange lineups in order to compete on both specifications and value.
The Honor X9d’s launch in the US is more than just another smartphone release—it’s a turning point for the midrange category. It delivers flagship-level performance, a long-lasting battery, rugged durability, and excellent camera capabilities at a price that appeals to the average American buyer. If early impressions are any indication, the X9d could very well set new expectations for what a midrange phone should offer in 2025. As competitors rush to catch up, consumers stand to benefit from this bold step forward in smartphone innovation.
