Xiaomi 17 Camera Upgrade Impresses in Leaked Renders

What the Leaks Reveal About Xiaomi 17’s Camera

Leaked renders of the Xiaomi 17 Pro show a striking upgrade in its camera design. The back reveals a Leica-branded triple camera setup housed in a rectangular module, along with an LED flash and a secondary smaller lens placed outside the main island. A “Magic Back Screen” is built into the rear module, giving it a unique look and added functionality.

The main lens in the Pro model is expected to be a 50 MP sensor with an f/1.67 aperture, while the ultrawide angle sensor retains strong specs. What stands out most is the telephoto lens: the Pro version reportedly features a 5× equivalent zoom, and the Pro Max model improves on it with a larger aperture for better low-light performance.

The render shows rounded edges and a metallic chassis, with volume and power buttons on one side. The integration of the secondary display near the cameras hints at new usability—checking notifications or using rear cameras for selfies without flipping the phone around.

These upgrades also suggest that Xiaomi is aiming to boost performance in photography—not just optics but ISP and software tuning too. Low-light shots, portrait mode, zoom clarity—each area seems to be getting attention based on what the leaks imply.

Overall, the camera enhancements on Xiaomi 17 look promising. If the leaks hold true, the device could rival other flagship phones in camera performance and design.
