December PS Plus Extra Lineup Expands with Fresh Announcements
Exciting December Games Drop for PS Plus Extra Subscribers
The December 2025 offerings for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers bring a strong mix of high-profile releases and unique newcomers. Early announcements from Sony Interactive Entertainment confirm a refreshed game catalog packed with blockbuster nostalgia and bold indie creativity. Subscribers have plenty to look forward to as the holiday season gaming rush kicks off.
The first big reveal is Red Dead Redemption — now in a native PS5 port — arriving on 2 December. This beloved open-world western classic returns with enhancements for modern hardware, giving players on Extra and Premium plans a chance to revisit the gritty Old-West saga. For PS4 owners, a free upgrade to the new version is provided, ensuring no one misses out.
Just days later, on 8 December, the indie standout Skate Story lands day-one on PS Plus. Unlike any typical skateboarding game, Skate Story blends surreal art direction and inventive gameplay. Players embody a demon made of glass, skating through the Underworld in a hauntingly beautiful journey — a fresh twist that promises to challenge genre expectations.

On 16 December, subscribers to Premium (and in some cases Extra) can also enjoy the classic fighter Soulcalibur III, making a return on PS4 and PS5 as part of the mid-month catalog refresh. While it’s a PS2-era port, it adds a nostalgic touch — even if the version won’t feature modern trophy support.
Beyond these highlights, the monthly games available to all PS Plus subscribers — including those on the Essential tier — get a boost this December. Titles such as LEGO Horizon Adventures, Killing Floor 3, The Outlast Trials, Synduality Echo of Ada and Neon White will be available from 2 December — giving players a diverse mix from family-friendly action to horror, shooters, and fast-paced platforming.
That said, the incoming games come with a trade-off: some titles are scheduled to leave the PS Plus Extra / Premium catalog on 16 December. This reset affects several games across different genres and platforms, signalling the usual rotation cycle subscribers should watch for if there are games they haven’t yet tried.
For many subscribers, this December’s update offers a balanced package. Red Dead Redemption delivers deep, cinematic adventure; Skate Story brings something fresh and imaginative; Soulcalibur III caters to nostalgia — and the monthly games widen the library spectrum significantly. It’s a strong reminder of the value PS Plus Extra (and Premium) provides during the current-generation console era.
