Honor Sets Sights on Wider Global Reach
Honor has confirmed plans to extend the Magic V Flip 2 beyond its initial Chinese debut and bring the device to global markets, including the United States. The company recently announced a “launch window” for the US, marking one of its most ambitious westward moves for a foldable device.
In China, the Magic V Flip 2 went on sale from August 28, priced from RMB 5,999 for the base model. The Chinese launch confirmed core specifications including a 5,500 mAh battery, support for 80 W wired and 50 W wireless charging, and a triple-camera setup led by a 200 MP sensor. Honor also emphasized durability features like a titanium hinge and Ultra-Thin Glass with fold resilience.

While Honor has not yet disclosed exact US pricing or carrier offers, the mention of a US release suggests the brand intends the Magic V Flip 2 to compete directly with Samsung’s Z Flip and Motorola’s Razr series. Analysts expect Honor will aim for a price band that undercuts existing premium foldables to attract early adopters.
Some reviewers remain cautiously skeptical about full US support, pointing out that Honor’s earlier foldables haven’t always entered the American market, and software or connectivity limitations could delay or complicate the rollout. However, the confirmed US launch window signals that Honor is serious about global ambitions.
Should Honor follow through, the Magic V Flip 2 could arrive in the US later this year with configurations offering 12 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB storage. Assuming modest markups, it might land in the $700–$900 range—aggressive for a flagship foldable and a potential disruptor in that segment.
With the global push, the Magic V Flip 2 could redefine expectations for clamshell foldables in the US—offering high-end cameras, large battery capacity, and sophisticated design at a more accessible price than rivals. The coming months will determine if Honor can deliver not just ambition, but execution.
