Today we want to check out a brand new device from Vivo it’s called The V 55g and this is sort of like the mid-range device that not only offers you one of the best experiences in terms of the portraits.
It’s been over a month since Vivo introduced its newest addition to the V series lineup, the Vivo V50 5G and its biggest USB is that it’s a beast when it comes to wedding photography trust me when I say it it would give a lot of professional photographers a run for their money of course
Build quality of Vivo V50
The retail packaging v50 branding on the top co-engineered with Z this is the red rose color with 8GB Ram 256 GB storage let’s open it up right on the top is the phone itself then we have a soft transparent cover the quality is pretty good paperwork that no one reads USBC charging cable a Sim ejector pin and a 90 W charging adapter all right let’s have a closer look at the phone.
We have the rose red color the back is glass matte finish super soft to touch and the best part doesn’t attract any fingerprint or smudes it’s also super slim at 7.6 mm and weighs. A little shy of 200 g feels so premium in the hand then it comes a dual camera setup 50 map primary Z camera with ois and 50 map Z Ultra wide and of course a larger.
A light this time you can tune the brightness and the warmth of the light as per your preference talking about the ports on the top is a top firing speaker power standby and volume rockers on the side at the bottom is a secondary down firing speaker USBC C port a microphone and a SIM tray that can house dual 5G nano SIM cards sadly there’s no support for SD card expansion off late.
I did mention it at the beginning the v50 also comes with IP 68 and ip69 rating so you can actually submerge it inside the swimming pool and it was just fine in fact we even took some pictures with it which was super clear.
DIsplay, brightness and refress rate of Vivo V50
Up top, you can see the microphone. Flip over to the front. The Vivo V55G sports a 6.77 in full HD plus 3D curve AMOLED display and has a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate.
Display to look even more like it’s floating above and it gives it for a very nice effect in fact the Basel that surrounds the entire display is also very symmetrical which is not something that you see a lot at phones under this price point, My attention is the super smooth 120 HZ refresh rate Vivo has optimized the software very very well everything flows like Silk then as you go into the settings. so a very awesome display that we have at the front here on the Vivo v50.
Vivo V50 Camera and photos quality
We do get a dual 50 megapix sensor the main sensor comes with ois and there’s also a 50mp Ultra wide now what’s really happening here is that in terms of the portrait modes uh Vivo has really optimized them to look really really good. so you have uh three different focal lines here right off the bat that is the 23 the 35 as well as the 50 this is actually very similar to the kind of lenses that I actually use.
I would say this camera is very reliable when it comes to night photography then here has a 4K 30 FPS video short hand held though very clear and stable I miss it lacks a 60 FPS recording support not a deal breaker.
I can totally get where a Vivo is going on with this kind of portrait kind of focal lens now if you just take a look at this photos over here you can see that the skin tones are again very natural you do have the option to change the kind of a colors that you want for it to be a bit more Vivid or the natural or Texture kind of look that’s all available in the settings. the front camera of the Vivo v50 and this is a 4K 30 FPS video recording

I think that is great because the aura light now gives you more control over not just the temperature but also the brightness of that ring now just in terms of normal day-to-day photos the Vivo v50 is also good at taking those shots.
The selfie camera at the front it’s worth mentioning that it’s also a 50 megapixel unit it’s Sports Ultra wide so you can bring in even more people into the photo if you have friends with you now lastly in terms of postprocessing in terms of the photos here there’s a new life photo mode which actually allows you to use a very colorful border.
Vivo V50 Battery capacity
I was actually surprised to see how such a slim phone comes with a 6,000 Mah battery if I’m not mistaken this is the thinnest phone in the market with a 6,000 Mah battery, we love slim phones and without trading the battery capacity.
I tell you, I’ve drained it for 2 days without charging. This is from 100% to 0%. And for proof, we did a PC Mark battery test and it gave us an insane 21 hours in 3 minutes. That’s truly an engineering feed to pull off good job by Vivo. Despite the phone’s thin profile, you’ll never imagine that there’s a huge power supply inside, a very compact one. This is because Vivo uses a Blue Bolt battery, which is made of silicon carbon, and has made everything possible to fit a thin yet powerful supply pack inside. The battery pack supports a 90 W flash charge.
My social battery can keep up with the phone’s battery life. Kidding aside, the Vivo V50 is indeed a phone you can rely on in terms of daily consumption.

performance and updates wise Vivo V50
The latest Android 15 OS and Vivo promises 3 years of Android updates and four years of software patches which I think is really good and of course it’s running fun touch OS 50 but yes it is full of bloatware apps.
The Vivo v50 is running the Snapdragon 7 gen 3 chipset it’s a mid-ranger chipset with 5G support and is very reliable it can handle all your day-to-day apps really well no lag or drop frames were noticed the variant we have came with 8GB lpddr 4X Ram apps launched almost instantly multitasking between these apps is super Snappy.
I would have loved actually appreciated if it came with ufs 3.1 it drastically improves the overall performance of a phone but anyway we ran the speed test for that as well and it scored 972 MB read and 823 MB. it’s not the best but decent all. The Google Gemini Assistant call and screen translation and AI efficient tools such as the AI transcript records which translate audio recordings into text and offer summary capabilities enabling various languages and increasing productivity.
