The Boys Season 5: Everything You Need to Know

The wait is over, and the final season of The Boys has begun on Prime Video in the UK. The fifth and final season promises to be an action-packed ride, with the return of favourite characters and the introduction of new ones. The season premiered on Wednesday, 8 April 2026, with a two-episode premiere.

The previous season saw the psycho supe become more violent and power-hungry than ever before. Butcher desperately searched for an advantage over his nemesis, and he found it, but at a grave cost. The new season will see the consequences of these actions unfold.

The season 5 cast includes returning members such as Antony Starr as Homelander, Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, and Jack Quaid as Hughie Campbell. New characters will also be introduced, including Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, and Daveed Diggs in a series regular role.

The plot of season 5 will see Homelander’s world, with Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie imprisoned in a ‘Freedom Camp.’ Annie will struggle to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe force, while Butcher will reappear with a virus that could wipe all Supes off the map.

The season will also feature characters from the Gen V spin-off series, including Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, a blood-bending freshman with incredible powers. The final season promises to be an epic conclusion to the series, with big events and plot twists that will change the world forever.

Unfortunately, there will not be a sixth season of The Boys, as the showrunner has announced that season 5 will be the finale of the entire story. However, a prequel series, Vought Rising, is in the works, set in the 1950s and telling the story of Soldier Boy and Stormfront.

To catch up on the first four seasons of The Boys, you’ll need an Amazon Prime Video account. Membership will get you much more than just entertainment, with benefits including free delivery, music streaming, and more.
